Eureka Labs, an AI and education company founded by Andrej Karpathy, is creating a new kind of school that is inherently AI-driven.
How can an ideal learning experience be achieved? Imagine learning physics with Richard Feynman guiding you every step of the way. Unfortunately, such passionate and skilled experts, who are infinitely patient and fluent in all languages, are rare and cannot personally tutor everyone on demand.
However, recent advancements in generative AI make this learning experience more feasible. Course materials are still designed by teachers but are supported, enhanced, and scaled by an AI Teaching Assistant. Also optimized to guide students. This Teacher + AI collaboration could facilitate an entire curriculum on a single platform. If successful, it will make learning accessible to everyone, enabling a vast number of people to learn a wide range of subjects beyond current possibilities.
Eureka Labs’ first product, LLM101n, will be the world’s premier AI course. This undergraduate-level class will guide students in training their own AI, similar to a smaller version of the AI Teaching Assistant. The course materials will be available online, with plans for both digital and physical cohorts to learn together.
Currently, Eureka Labs is focused on building LLM101n but envisions a future where AI significantly enhances human potential. What would you like to learn?
@EurekaLabsAI is the culmination of Andrej Karpathy’s passion for AI and education over nearly two decades. His journey in education includes creating YouTube tutorials on Rubik’s cubes, launching CS231n at Stanford, and developing the Zero-to-Hero AI series. His AI work spans academic research at Stanford, real-world products at Tesla, and AGI research at OpenAI. Until now, merging these interests has been a side pursuit, but he is excited to fully dedicate himself to building something remarkable.
